TRANSIT COMMUNICATION CENTRE

Langford, BC

Due to aging communications infrastructure in BC Transit’s downtown facility, not only was there a need for upgraded technology but also a new home for the centralized command centre. T-Comm was created by renovating existing office space in BC Transit’s Langford location and upgrading the IT infrastructure at the same time. This project involved interior office renovations, IT system procurement, and integration with existing facilities and processes. Higginson Consulting Ltd. (HCL) was retained by BC Transit to provide full project management services for this project, inclusive of space planning, tendering and procurement, site inspections, contractor coordination, construction management, and contract close-out. Working closely with BC Transit facility managers, this project was completed within budget.
